Short Description:

The ASHA Foundation is a charity working for the empowerment of young people, sustainable development and peace and reconciliation worldwide. It was established in 1996. ASHA comes from the Sanskrit root meaning 'eternal law', the inherent nature of existence. In Avestan Persian the word ASHA means 'the righteous way' and 'divine justice'. In many languages it also means 'hope'. The ASHA Centre, where most of the Foundation's projects are based, is located in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, UK. The Centre is a hub of intercultural activities, hosting a range of educational, performing arts and environment-based programmes throughout the year.
